From the President of the Mid Island Métis Nation

A Cree Métis woman originally from Saskatchewan, Joy Bremner has served as President of the Mid Island Métis Nation for eight consecutive terms. Joy holds positions on local, regional and provincial governance assembly/councils with the Métis Nation of British Columbia. Her commitment to the health & growth of children, families and the Métis Community form the guiding principles of her tenure as president.

We are a proud people with a rich past and an exciting future, and we are proud to inspire Métis people to embrace their heritage and improve the communities they live in.

Mid Island Métis Nation is a community of more than 1,500 people who live the values of our united Métis Heritage through community engagement, education, economic development, and cultural sharing. We are proud to work closely with the Metis Nation of British Columbia as the chartered community for Central Vancouver Island.

As a non-profit organization, we rely on fundraisers and donations in order to serve our community. Almost all the money raise through donations, fundraisers and grants goes towards providing programs and services to support our community.

I am deeply honoured to work closely with so many passionate and dedicated members of our community through my role as president.
