Darryl Fraser and Marina Best both resigned due to increased education, work and/or family responsibilities making it difficult to maintain their commitments to the Board.
Joy Bremner (President)
Joy Bremner, Elected Leader (President) of MIMN. Joy has dedicated over a decade of leadership to the organization and has a position on the Vancouver Island Regional Governance Committee. She is called upon to represent MIMN locally, Provincially and Federally. As a very active volunteer, Joy represents the MIMN community at local, provincial and federal events, is the primary grant writer, manager of programs and manages the office daily. In the Métis community, Joy is recognized as a Knowledge Keeper and Elder.
Tim Low (Vice President) Tim has been volunteering for many years in the Métis community. He is a paid representative on the PCN Committee and participates in volunteer and paid committee positions representing the Métis such as the Vancouver Island Rendezvous.
Edie Cartwright has volunteered for MIMN over many years. For the past two years she been active on the Board of Directors as the Treasurer. Edie has also organized the knitting circle that creates items for the needy in the Cold Weather Supports Program.
Guy Beaulieu volunteers with MIMN and currently on the Board as a Director at large. Guy participates with various City committees on behalf of MIMN and is the lead volunteer for the Cold Weather Supports Program.
Melanie Tuenissen has also volunteered for many years with MIMN and works as a Training and Career Counsellor for Métis Nation BC. As Director for MIMN she acts as the MIMN Women’s Representative volunteering to set up the monthly cultural nights.
